3.18.2020 - Update

To Our Valued Legacy Friends:

On behalf of everyone at Legacy Retirement Communities, our hearts go out to all those impacted by COVID-19—this includes not only those diagnosed with the virus, but also their friends and family. Many of you may also be feeling uncertain about the future and what resources may be available to assist you in this challenging time. While right now circumstances are dictating unusual restrictions, Legacy continues to be a ready resource and partner for those wanting or needing senior living services.

Our First Priority
Providing excellent care with Personal Touch continues to be our number one priority. This includes protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents, associates, family members and friends. To this end we have implemented the following safeguards:

Visitation Restrictions

  • Only essential visitors will be permitted to enter the community. Essential is defined as medically necessary or certain compassionate care and end of life situations. Essential visitors will be limited to two per resident.
  • All visitors will be screened for signs and symptoms of illness or potential exposure to COVID-19 or other communicable diseases.
  • To facilitate contact with residents, we recommend frequent telephone calls, FaceTime, video calls and other means of available communication.

Community Safeguards

  • Meals will be served in the resident’s apartment. The community will care plan for residents with special dining needs (including memory care) and when needed, arrange for service in the dining room with appropriate social distancing (6ft apart) precautions in place.
  • Recreation programs will be provided in a way to limit close contact with others. All recreation supplies will be properly sanitized between use.
  • To protect the health and safety of all, associates are screened daily for signs and symptoms of illness and potential exposure to COVID-19.

We Are Here
We understand that even now, seniors and their families may be in need of the services Legacy provides. While we are currently restricting in person tours, we are able to provide virtual tours, advice and assistance over the phone and by email. If there is an immediate need for you or a loved one, please contact us so that we may assist.

3.13.2020 - Update

At the direction of the United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and government and state officials, we are limiting visitors to our community in response to COVID-19. We recommend that all non-essential persons abstain from visiting our senior living communities. Those who need to visit must pass a screening before they are allowed to access the community.

In addition to limiting visitors, we are also implementing rigorous cleaning and sanitation protocols. While we do not have a reported COVID-19 case in any of our communities, we are taking preventative measures out of an abundance of caution. Our community leadership and care teams are working diligently to stay updated with the latest developments and recommendations. Team members, residents, and resident family health is of the utmost importance to us.

We know that for the general public, the risk remains low. However, studies have shown that the senior population (those over 60) and those with underlying health issues are particularly at risk. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus that causes it.
